Bitdefender Named a 2021 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Endpoint Protection Platforms in North America

We love any reason to celebrate our vendors, but this reason is fantastic! Congratulations to the Bitdefender team for all their hard work and dedication!

Bitdefender, a global cybersecurity leader, was named a Customers’ Choice in North America in the 2021 Gartner Peer Insights ‘Voice of the Customer’: Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP).

2021 Gartner Peer Insights ‘Voice of the Customer’: Endpoint Protection Platforms highlights include:

  • Bitdefender named a North America Customers’ Choice for EPP.
  • Bitdefender named a Strong Performer for EPP globally and for midsize enterprises.
  • Ninety-four percent of Bitdefender customers recommend its EPP platform.
  • Bitdefender reviews received four or five stars (out of five) 99 percent of the time.
  • Bitdefender EPP achieved an overall rating of 4.6 (out of five) which meets or exceeds the market average.

Gartner Peer Insights reviews were based on Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra, the company’s unified security platform for EPP, Endpoint Detection and Response and advanced risk analytics, and Bitdefender Enterprise Security, which provides multi-layered security for physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

What are Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP) and why are they important?

According to Gartner, “An endpoint protection platform (EPP) is a solution deployed on endpoint devices to prevent file-based malware attacks, detect malicious activity, and provide the investigation and remediation capabilities needed to respond to dynamic security incidents and alerts. Detection capabilities will vary, but advanced solutions will use multiple detection techniques, ranging from static IOCs to behavioral analysis. Desirable EPP solutions are primarily cloud-managed, allowing the continuous monitoring and collection of activity data, along with the ability to take remote remediation actions, whether the endpoint is on the corporate network or outside of the office.”

Endpoints are critical to any organization such as end-user devices like desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. These endpoints typically serve as points of access to an enterprise or SMB network and create points of entry that can be exploited by malicious actors. Any disruption to these systems will impact business operations. When these systems are misconfigured by users or admins, they become vulnerable to cyber-attacks that can affect wholesale system function. In order to stay ahead of evolving threats in today’s world, risk assessment and remediation capabilities need to be fully integrated into a broad endpoint protection platform (EPP).
